Buhari to Attend e-Nigeria Confab
PresidentMuhammaduBuharihasacceptedandapprovedtheinvitation oftheMinisterofCommunicationsandDigitalEconomy,DrIsaPantami toserveasspecialguestofhonour,atthe2019e-Nigeriaannualconference. The President conveyed his acceptance and approved the event through a letter. Theconference,whichisscheduledtoholdfromThursday,28thtoSaturday, 30thNovember2019,withthethemecentredaround:‘DigitalEconomyfor aDigitalNigeria,”istobedeclaredopenbythePresident,withtheMinisterof CommunicationsandDigitalEconomyastheChiefHostandChiefConvener, whiletheDirectorGeneralNationalInformationTechnologyDevelopment Agency(NITDA),Mr.KashifInuwaAbdullahi,isthehostandconvener.All theChiefExecutiveOfficers(CEOs),ofagenciesandparastatalsunder theMinistrywouldserveasco-hosts.Theseinclude:theExecutiveVice Chairman(EVC)NigerianCommunicationsCommission(NCC),Professor UmarGarbaDanbatta;ManagingDirectorGalaxyBackbonePLC,Architect Yusuf Kazaure; Managing Director Nigeria Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT),DrAbimbolaAlale;ActingExecutiveSecretaryUniversal ServiceProvisionFund(USPF)MrAyubaShuaibu;andthePostMaster General,NigeriaPostalServices(NIPOST)BarristerAdebisiAdegbuyi. Thehighlightofthisyear’sevent,whichispartoftheEconomicRecovery andGrowthPlan(ERGP)ofthepresentadministration,willbetheformal publicpresentationforreview,inlinewiththePresident’sdirectives,the draftdocumentontheNationalDigitalEconomyPolicyandStrategy,in accordancewiththeMinistry’smandate.TheMinisterhasalsoconstituted Central Working Committee (CWC), for e-Nigeria chaired by him, with NITDAasitssecretariatandcoordinator,whiletheChiefExecutiveOfficers (CEOs)ofParastatalsundertheMinistry’ssupervisionserveasmembers.
