Air Force Hosts Kids to Christmas Funfair

- Rebecca Ejifoma

Pupils of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Primary School in Lagos sure had a swell time as the Commander 055 NAF Camp treated them to Christmas funfair. The year ended for them on a more exciting page with lots of mouthwatering gifts for being such amazing children in the last one year.

The end of the year’s children’s party held at the Nigerian Air Force Primary School in Victoria Island, Lagos on a certain Saturday.

Indeed, every moment was a relish for the children. They took turns to express their talents in singing and

dancing while parents had competitive games that thrilled the children, who responded with screams of delight.

The Commander 055 NAF Camp, Air Commodore Razaq K. Olanrewaju, said the party was aimed to bring about interaction and integration among the children who for obvious reasons might not be attending the same schools but nonetheless are part of the larger air force family.

“It is also to appreciate, motivate, and celebrate their hard work and achievements this year and encourage them to aim even higher next year,” he enthused.

Continuing, he added that it was the force’s little way of adding value to the

society as always preached, encouraged and shown by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar.

Following the alarming rate of cultism and sexual abuse perpetrated in the country, the air commodore admonished children, who easily get sprayed by abusers, to report to their parents whenever they notice such dangers.

“Children should watch out for those uncles and aunties coming too close with bad intentions. Please report to your parents. That way you would be better safe,” he advised.

Speaking also, the Chief Host and NAFOWA President Hajiya Hafsat Sadique Abubakar, expressed that the opportunities being afforded to

the children in Nigerian Air Force Barracks are of the highest quality and meets the diverse range of social developmental needs.

Abubakar who was represented by NAFOWA Chairperson, Logistics Command, Mrs Nofisat Olabisi added that whenever she looked back at what the children have achieved and how far they have come, it would not be out of place to say they are incredibly dedicated and hardworking.

The president further warned parents to watch over their children with eagle’s eyes, especially in this season. “There are so many terrible things happening around. We need to watch over them”.
