The days are smiling on young folks who are doing amazing things in the world. These days, it is not unusual to see a thirty-something year-old boss man doing his thing in Nigeria, unveiling new branches of a successful enterprise and generally making relatives and friends proud. This is the same emotion that was elicited by Omolara Afolaranmi, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of 12 Baskets Foods Limited, as she slid into her 40th year on February the 12th, an event that was celebrated in style by her hubby, Michael Afolaranmi.
Few folks have the brilliance and energy to balance work life and love life, but Michael Afolaranmi showed himself to be one of these. This is evidenced by the fact that the classy party held in honour of his wife, Omolara, was a surprise party. Absentees can imagine the delight and girlish excitement such a move educed from the celebrant. (Oga Michael is a sneaky hubby, it seems.)
Held at the prestigious Adam & Eve Hall at Isaac John Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, the party was a riot of buoyant sentiments, with guests and well-wishers trooping in to lay a soft peck here, a promising handshake there, and a word or two of festive merit. Nothing beats being surrounded by folks who love and admire one in equal measure.
Because the dress code for the party was white on jeans, the ambience was one of a warm, close-knit gathering – peachy enough to indicate high bearing and test, and yet simple enough to allow for genuine expressions. And Lady Omolara lent her glow to the party, leaving folks profiteers of laughter, merriment and fun.
Michael Afolaranmi was the perfect host, as he entertained both his celebrant wife and their guests with food, wine and music. In many ways, attendees will not soon forget that date as they will have marked their calendars for next year.
