Shakida Sanusi – In Tears, You Stand in Courage

-

I really don’t like downloading clips on my phone. People like sending all sorts but when you see a particular clip being shared by so many people, you tend to want to open it. That is how I opened this one and it was Emir Sanusi’s beautiful daughter delivering a homily amidst tears on her father’s dethronement. First, let me state here that the lady is very beautiful. Come and see her face, her composure and even her skin. As she was talking, she was sniffing and fighting back the tears. Mbok, I come pity am, feeling like going to her to hug and comfort her. I called Chantal my own beautiful daughter to come and watch in case they dethrone me too one day so she can give this kind of speech. That one no even show concern. Mbok, this girl try o. She talked in glowing terms about her dad, his legacy and what he stood for. She showed that the thing ‘no pain’ them and that they were ready to move on. Kai, I didn’t follow must of the things she said because I was detracted by her beauty and the need for me to comfort her. You see, I am kind of detached from this whole drama and apologies to the fans of the Emir, I no really dey carried away with the whole drama. The Emir in my books should have been more subtle and more practical in his engagement. How you go dey fight people who have executive powers and who have shown that they can react with deadly efficiency? That one na yeye fight na and even in the fight sef, I no see any practical move to help even the talakawas independently but instead na Sowore-type rhetoris and a life rolling in luxury. On the other hand, the people that dethrone him have only succeeded in propping themselves for the judgment of history which is usually very harsh and unbiased so I really have nothing to say on that part. My advice for Nigerians na to just ignore this one because there is nothing here for us. These are ‘spoilt’ cousins fighting over spoils. It’s OK we have real struggles to face. Life continues.
