CHILE UDEMGBA – A WOMAN AND A HALF
This lady is a banker with a mission. In the last three years, she has donated in excess of N20m through her 1k miracle group to mostly patients at the Gbagada General Hospital. The idea behind the group which has grown from just two people to over 500 is to contribute only N2,000 from their lunch money monthly for the patients. Chile has carefully nurtured and grown the group to this point where it is impacting very aggressively on the patients of this hospital. Not stopping at that, she has set up the Woman and a Half Initiative which has brought together over 1,000 professional women to network and engage themselves all in a bid to better position themselves for leadership positions within the system. These are the kinds of things we are talking about, not armchair criticisms but the desire to go out there and make things happen. The WAH Initiative as she calls it has attracted the attention of very sophisticated and super successful professional women who look forward to its annual offering. This year, I hear the theme is ‘winds beneath her wings’ and for the first time, they would be having some powerful males like uncle Soni
Irabor on the panel. it will be taking place at the lush green grounds of the Federal palace Hotel and has already confirmed such powerful titans like influential Journalist-cum-activist Kadaria Ahmed, Gbemi Shasore, Ini Abimbola and Hon. Modupe Mujota to mention a few. This promises to be an exciting outing.
