Makinde Inaugurates N8.5bn Road in Bauchi
The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for the construction of 24.5km Itas-Gadau Road project worth N 8.5 billion in B au chi State, saying that the road project would leave a legacy for his administration.
Speaking at the official ground breaking ceremony at It as-G ad au Local Government Area of B au chi State yesterday, Governor Ma kin de said that the inauguration of the road project was significant because of its economic social value to the people of the area and B au chi State as a whole.
He said that he was convinced that leaders could succeed in moving Nigeria forward if they continue to drive up people economic empowerment by providing infrastructures the people need, adding that Nigerians were resilient people who needed the right environment to flourish.
According to him ," I have seen the specifications of this road and am happy that it is not the kind of road that will fall apart in a few months. The finishing with a 40 mm asphalt wearing cost is worth mentioning for its durability. As leaders, we must never forget that what we do with the opportunity we are given, will eventually speak forus.
"We must remain focused in doing the right things to the best of our abilities. We must work to acceleratedevelopment in our areas and road construction is one of those core development projects that must never be overlooked ."
