Gombe to Work with Armed Forces on Sustenance of Peace

Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has said his will not relent in working in synergy with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to maintain and reinforce the prevailing peace in Gombe State.

The governor stated this yesterday when he received the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Gombe.

He stressed the need for a symbiotic relation between Gombe State and the Nigerian Army to further promote peace and security in the State.

Governor Yahaya lauded the key role of Nigerian armed forces in peace building across the geopolitic­al zones of the federation.

According to him, “I must admit that the presence of the Army gives us a great sense of security and stable mind because the greatest sacrifice that you made to even join the force means that you are there to protect Nigerians against all odds and at all cost; so we appreciate you and we shall continue to do so for what you are doing to the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.

The Governor tasked the COAS to expedite action towards the relocation of the 301 Army barracks to its permanent site, stressing that while the military does its part, the State Government is equally providing substantia­l amount of support to see to the quick and easy movement of the Army base.
