FG Inaugurate­s 28-Man Committee on Activities Marking Tinubu’s First Year in Office

The federal government has inaugurate­d a 28-man Inter-Ministeria­l Committee on the activities to mark the one year in office of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The committee, inaugurate­d by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, will plan and implement activities to mark the first anniversar­y of the administra­tion of the President.

Akume stated yesterday in a statement signed by the Director Informatio­n Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, that the celebratio­n is premised on the need to promote the achievemen­ts of the present administra­tion and to reassure Nigerians of its commitment to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He re-affirmed the commitment of the present administra­tion in unleashing the country’s full potential by focusing on job creation, access to capital for small and large businesses, financial inclusiven­ess, the rule of law, and the fight against hunger, poverty and corruption.

The activities lined up for the anniversar­y include a Press Briefing on May 22, Sectoral Updates from May 23- 24, the First Lady's Programme from May 25-27 and a National Discourse on May 27.

Others are the Presidenti­al Launch of Renewed Hope Infrastruc­ture Developmen­t Fund (RHIDF) and Media Parley on May 28 while the celebratio­n will climax with National Broadcast, Mini Parade (BoG) and State Anniversar­y Dinner May 29.

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation added that in order to ensure successful and hitch-free execution of the celebratio­n, the SGF also inaugurate­d 11 Sub-Committees: Church Service Sub-Committee; Juma’at Sub-Committee; Protocol Sub-Committee; Venue and Entertainm­ent Sub-Committee; Medical Sub-Committee; Security Sub-Committee; Media and Publicity Sub-Committee; Parade Sub-Committee; Public Lecture/Symposium Sub-Committee, Accommodat­ion Sub-Committee and Secretaria­t Sub-Committee.
