Mus­lim rights group de­clares Nige­rian leg­is­la­tors ‘im­ma­ture’

The Mus­lim Rights Con­cern (MURIC) has ac­cused some se­na­tors and mem­bers of the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives of po­lit­i­cal ab­sur­dity.

The group was re­spond­ing to the rowdy ses­sion of the joint sit­ting of the Se­nate and the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives dur­ing the pre­sen­ta­tion of the 2019 bud­get by Pres­i­dent Muham­madu Buhari.

In a re­lease yes­ter­day signed by Pro­fes­sor Ishaq Akintola, the Di­rec­tor of the right group, said the at­ti­tude of the law­mak­ers was “In­fan­tile, pedes­trian and lu­di­crous.”

The pres­i­dent was booed by some law­mak­ers while he was pre­sent­ing the 2019 ap­pro­pri­a­tion.
