Deputy gover­nor charges stu­dents, youths on peace­ful elec­tions

The Deputy Gover­nor of Taraba State, En­gi­neer Haruna Manu, has called on stu­dents and youths to avoid thug­gery in or­der to en­sure the peace­ful con­duct of the gen­eral elec­tions next year.

Manu gave the ad­vice in Jalingo on Fri­day, when Na­tional As­so­ci­a­tion of Jukun Stu­dents paid him a cour­tesy call at his of­fice. He also urged stu­dents across in the coun­try to shun acts ca­pa­ble of jeop­ar­diz­ing the peace of the na­tion.

Ear­lier, the Pres­i­dent of the as­so­ci­a­tion, Mr Amos Nuhu, de­scribed the deputy gover­nor as the only one in the his­tory of the state that has worked with his boss with­out any is­sue.
