Al Jisr Charity Foundation hands over 36 homes in first half of 2017
As part of its mission to give back to the community, Al Jisr Charity Foundation has successfully completed and delivered 36 homes since the beginning of the year. Since Al Jisr’s inception, the team has worked hard to promote the full participation of people in their communities by fostering self-empowerment.
Shelter represents the fundamental base of Al Jisr’s hierarchy of support, which provides the stepping-stone to achieve the ultimate goal of self-realisation.
Al Jisr Charity Foundation, represented by the Projects Division, collaborates with the Ministry of Housing to provide housing assistance for the needy and underprivileged families that are entitled to Zakat across Oman. During 2017, 18 projects were completed in Muscat, seven in Batinah, eight in Sharqiyah, and three in Dakhliyah. The housing projects were divided accordingly into construction (29), purchase (6) and maintenance (1).
Al Jisr aspires to establish itself as a leading philanthropic organisation through society empowerment.
Since the establishment of Al Jisr, assistance for more than 416 houses has been provided. Of these, 63 homes were provided just last year. The foundation is not only working on addressing the basic needs of the society but it is also innovating a wide range philanthropic programmes and activities that can provide a sustainable solution to the underlying problems in Oman.
