Rowas bestowed with Arab Heritage Man Award
Muscat - Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al Rowas, Advisor to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on Cultural Affairs, received in his office on Monday chairman and members of the Arab Centre for Tourism Information (ACTM), and accepted the Arab Heritage Man Award for 2017.
The award was presented in the presence of a number of pioneers in the Omani and Arab media.
Rowas accepted the award, expressing his thanks to ACTM for its efforts in serving tourism communication and highlighting Arab heritage treasures in various Arab countries.
He pointed out that the honour came as a result of the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the unity of the Omani people since the Blessed Renaissance.
Dr Sultan al Yahyaee, chairman of ACTM, said that the centre, which is about to mark its tenth anniversary, has organised a number of activities and events that have achieved a prestigious position in the Arab countries at various levels.
He added that the centre, through its 15 branches in various Arab countries, has raised awareness on the tourism potential of Arab countries and their capabilities to activate Arab tourism and provide a positive image through various influential media outlets.
The meeting discussed means of activating tourism and heritage media and the development of inter-Arab tourism, as well as the importance of role of the media in promoting the tourism sector.
