A three-day medical conference with special emphasis on epilepsy in women during pregnancy will be held as part of the Oman Health Exhibition and Conference at the new Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre in October.

This was announced during a press conference at Crowne Plaza Muscat by the organisers of the event on Tuesday. The annual international event in its seventh edition will be held from October 9-11. Recognised as a flagship health and medical event in Oman, it will bring together close to 200 exhibiting partners from 18 countries.

Dr Waleed bin Khalid al Zadjali, president of Oman Medical Association said, “This year’s edition will also see the show’s first-time association with Turkey as a country partner, who will offer healthcare and medical services from 20 leading health establishments. A noteworthy feature will be the India Health Plus pavilion, which will promote top medical consultants and specialists from more than 30 leading hospitals in India.

“Adding value to the exhibition are the national pavilions of Germany, Thailand and Iran— now an emerging preferred medical destination for its world-class treatment and services—which will feature consultants and medical specialists representing over 30 hospitals.”

The conference will also feature a notable lineup of local and international speakers who will discuss issues and case studies in several healthcare areas.

Oman’s healthcare sector is earmarked by the government as one of the priority and potential sectors for foreign direct investment under its Health Vision 2050. The Ministry of Health is currently embarking on important health projects and opening doors for investment opportunities in Oman.
