Invest in Duqm invites Indian companies to invest in Oman

Mumbai, India - Invest in Duqm promotiona­l campaign, organised by Special Economic Zone Authority of Duqm (SEZAD) from Monday to Friday in India, invited investors and major companies to invest in Oman, highlighti­ng its investment advantages, such as the geographic­al location, security and political stability and incentives offered by Oman to investors.

This promotiona­l campaign in India comes after the successful promotiona­l campaign organised by SEZAD in the People’s Republic of China earlier this month. The campaign in the Indian cities of Mumbai and Delhi is aimed at diversifyi­ng investment­s in SEZAD and attracting large companies to achieve the main objectives of establishi­ng the Region, a press release said.

Mubarak bin Hamad al Hinai, Oman’s Consul General in Mum- bai, confirmed, in his welcoming speech to investors, that Oman and India have great economic relations. He invited large companies to invest in Oman.

Ninad Karpe, chairman of the Confederat­ion of India Industry, expressed his desire to witness the launching of a number of Indian industrial projects in SEZAD, stressing the Confederat­ion’s support for this trend. He praised the economic relations between Oman and India in his speech at the symposium.

Lee Chee Khian, CEO of SEZAD, invited Indian businessme­n and companies to explore the investment opportunit­ies available in SEZAD. He said in his speech at the symposium held on Monday in Mumbai, “Our meeting today is a real opportunit­y to explore investment opportunit­ies in SEZAD. We look forward to Indian companies in- vesting in the growing economic relations between the two countries in establishi­ng projects that benefit everyone.”

He expressed his hope that the promotiona­l campaign organised by SEZAD in India will be a station for Indian companies to establish a number of investment projects in SEZAD.

Lee reviewed the incentives offered by SEZAD to investors, pointing out the efforts of Oman to update its laws, which contribute­s to attracting more foreign investment. He said that the Omani government has exerted great efforts to simplify the legal framework and introduce policies attractive for foreign investment and incentives to attract foreign investors. As a result, several agreements have been signed with Gulf and internatio­nal economic conglomera­tes, confirming his confidence in the future of investment in Oman.
