Acclaimed musician Rafael Serrallet to perform in Oman today, tomorrow
Muscat - Acclaimed musician Rafael Serrallet will be performing on works by Spanish composers including Albéniz, Tárrega and Granados on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The performance is being held as part of the Spanish Cultural Week organised by the Spanish Embassy in Oman.
A press release stated that the embassy will be hosting and collaborating with world renowned Spanish classical guitarist, Rafael Serrallet in these two concerts. These events are part of the cultural cooperation between Spain and Oman.
Hailed as a guitarist of profound and thoughtful artistry, Valencian born Rafael Serrallet is one of the biggest names in Spanish music and is internationally recognised as an acclaimed musician. Having performed in over 70 countries, solo and with leading orchestras worldwide, his passionate performances and unique musical interpretation have been described as ‘spellbinding and captivating...skillfully combining the knowledge and wisdom of the old guitar Maestros’ with modern day techniques, inspiring audiences of all ages’.
On Tuesday, the concert will be held at the Omani Spanish Friendship Association, Shatti al Qurum. This event is open door but to secure tickets please send an email at osfra@live.com. On Wednesday, the event will be held at the Bait al Zubair Museum at 7.30pm.
More than a guitarist, Serrallet is a comprehensive musician having studied and performed extensively in conducting, chamber music and choral singing. He has been a resident teacher in Santiago de Compostela and Lliria conservatories in Spain and today teaches master classes in universities and conservatories throughout the world.
Serrallet will also teach at the Music and Musicology Department in SQU on Wednesday morning.
