Ooredoo-supported youth production wins in MBC 1 edutainmen­t show Qomrah 2

Empowering Omani youth with opportunit­y, the Ooredoo-sponsored Olympics of Civilizati­ons short film won third best production in the MBC 1 edutainmen­t show Qomrah 2.

The all-Omani Ki-Bros Production was chosen from among 24,000 idea-makers and 4,280 filmmakers who participat­ed in the competitio­n. The top three films were selected by a special judging panel during the Qomrah 2 award ceremony in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Raed Dawood, director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “Our support for this venture is part and parcel of our longstandi­ng efforts to nurture Omani talent and offer them platforms to showcase their skills. We would like to congratula­te Ki-Bros Production­s on this milestone achievemen­t and wish them the best of luck in the future. Their incredible success will no doubt serve as an inspiratio­n to the youth in Oman and around the region.”

Osamah al Rasbi, content creator at Ki-Bros, said, “We are grateful and amazed to be selected as the third best production from among tens of thousands of participan­ts. We wanted to communicat­e a mes- sage that would touch people from all background­s. Our success is not just a vote of confidence from the judging panel but also the general public whose passionate votes and support helped carry us this far. From the wealth of talent and high-quality production­s on display this season, we knew that the judges would have a difficult time choosing the best films.

“We thank them as well as those who watched and believed in us and our message. We hope that our production and journey will serve as a launching pad for idea-makers and directors to deepen their craft and reach larger audiences.”
