Bayan College visits Missouri School of Journalism
Dr Modi Juma Saleh al Ghailani, Bayan College visited School of Journalism, University of Missouri Columbia, to explore possibilities of entering academic partnership between two organisations.
Missouri School of Journalism is the world’s first School of Journalism since 1908. “The infrastructure and facilities provided to the students at Missouri School of Journalism are great in order to excel in the field of media and mass communication,” said Dr Ghailani while briefing on the visit.
The visit included several rounds of discussions with Missouri School of Journalism team to work out a roadmap for conducting collaborative research, faculty and students exchange programmes, cultural and educational cooperation.
While briefing on the campus tour Dr Ghailani said that technical advancement used in teaching media in Missouri School of Journalism is highly impressive and appreciating. “They also educate students in media for different careers like journalism, advertising and other media fields by combining a strong liberal arts education with required practical and training sessions,” added Dr Ghailani.
Dr Ghailani also said that the association with Missouri School of Journalism can provide lots of opportunities for Bayan students and staff in the field of media. It can also help the students to explore the teaching of media in US.

Bayan College is the first private Media College in the sultanate of Oman offering Majors in Broadcasting, Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising. The college also offers English Literature and English Professional Writing under its Faculty of English Literature.
