Oman plays goal­less draw with Jor­dan in friendly

Hosts Jor­dan were held to a goal­less draw by Oman in an in­ter­na­tional foot­ball friendly at Am­man on Tues­day night.

It was the sec­ond suc­ces­sive goal­less draw by Pim Ver­beek's Red Warriors in a span of three days.

On Sun­day, Oman and Le­banon were in­volved in a goal­less stalemate. Oman was in Jor­dan for a 12-day prepara­tory camp for the AFC Asian Cup 2019.

The 17th edi­tion of the Asian Cup will be held across the UAE from Jan­uary 5-Fe­bru­ary 1.

Oman's Dutch coach will hold a to­tal of five train­ing camps and a number of in­ter­na­tional friendly matches ahead of the Asian Cup.

Oman will hold its sec­ond camp in Doha, Qatar, from Oc­to­ber 7 to 16 dur­ing which it will play two friendlies - against Ye­men on Oc­to­ber 14 and Ecuador on Oc­to­ber 16.

The team will then gather for a camp in Muscat from Novem­ber 11 to 20, dur­ing which it will play two friendlies – against Syria on Novem­ber 16 and against Kyr­gyz Repub­lic on Novem­ber 19. That will be fol­lowed by an­other camp from De­cem­ber 7 to 22 in Muscat.

Ahead of the Asian Cup, the team will un­dergo its fi­nal train­ing camp in the UAE from De­cem­ber 22.

Dur­ing the UAE camp, Oman has fi­nalised friendlies against In­dia (De­cem­ber 27), Aus­tralia (De­cem­ber 30) and Thai­land (Jan­uary 2, 2019).

At the Asian Cup UAE 2019, Oman is in Group F with Ja­pan, Uzbek­istan and Turk­menistan. It be­gins its cam­paign against Uzbek­istan on Jan­uary 9.
