MSM30 jumps 0.99%; volumes up
Muscat - The benchmark index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) rose 0.99 per cent to close at 4,530.55 points on Wednesday.
While turnover declined by 5.7 per cent to RO3.75mn, volumes increased 34.55 per cent to 20.56mn shares.
The gains in the main index were supported by all the subindices. The Financial index rose 0.39 per cent, Industrial index climbed 0.88 per cent and Services index rose 1.2 per cent. The MSM Shariah index closed up by 0.6 per cent at 620.93 points.
Market breadth remained highly positive as 22 companies closed up, while eight companies closed down. The rest eight traded stocks closed flat for the day.
Top gainers were Muscat Gases (8.17 per cent), Raysut Cement (7.94 per cent), National Gas (5.81 per cent) and Omantel (5.74 per cent).
Top losers were Al Madina Investment (-4.55 per cent), Galfar Engineering & Contracting (-1.92 per cent), Alizz Islamic Bank (-1.16 per cent) and Bank Sohar (-0.78 per cent).
