PDO holds translator­s forum

Muscat - Petroleum Developmen­t Oman (PDO) on Wednesday staged the third Omani Translator­s Forum, bringing together profession­al translator­s from various organisati­ons.

The event, which was attended by more than 350 participan­ts, was held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre under the patronage of H E Mohammed bin Salim bin Said al Toobi, Minister of Environmen­t and Climate Affairs.

The theme of the forum was ‘Translatio­n in the Digital Age’, and there were 15 presentati­on papers on different topics, as well as a practical workshop on a computer-assisted translatio­n tool adopted at PDO.

Saleh bin Salim al Alawi, PDO’s head of Translatio­n Services said, “Translatio­n technologi­es are proving to be an asset to translator­s in an increasing­ly competitiv­e market.”
