PDO holds translators forum
Muscat - Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) on Wednesday staged the third Omani Translators Forum, bringing together professional translators from various organisations.
The event, which was attended by more than 350 participants, was held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre under the patronage of H E Mohammed bin Salim bin Said al Toobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs.
The theme of the forum was ‘Translation in the Digital Age’, and there were 15 presentation papers on different topics, as well as a practical workshop on a computer-assisted translation tool adopted at PDO.
Saleh bin Salim al Alawi, PDO’s head of Translation Services said, “Translation technologies are proving to be an asset to translators in an increasingly competitive market.”
