OQIC announces opening of new corporate office
Muscat – Oman Qatar Insurance Company (OQIC) recently held a grand opening ceremony for its corporate and retail branches and introduced a revolutionary ‘Insurance-on-Call’ service.
Held at Grand Hyatt Muscat, the opening ceremony witnessed the presence of many dignitaries and government officials, including the directors, industry experts, prominent business leaders, associates and partners, and OQIC employees.
H E Sheikh Khalid bin Omar bin Said al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service, unveiled a commemorative plaque during the opening of the new corporate office and retail branch at Al Khuwair in the presence of Ahmed Ali al Maamari, vice president – insurance sector at the Capital Market Authority, H E Ali bin Fahad al Hajri, Ambassador of Qatar to Oman, and H E Khalaf Ahmed al Mannai, chairman of OQIC.
In his welcome address, H E Mannai said, “The bilateral relations between Oman and Qatar have grown in leaps and bounds. Thanks to the shared vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, this successful relation has manifested in forming new synergies, new agreements and cooperation projects.”
He further said, “OQIC’s vision aligns with its parent Qatar Insurance Group, which is to continue its drive for achieving further growth and operational excellence through innovation, diversification and responsible leadership. Pursuant to this vision, OQIC aspires to play a key role in enhancing the bilateral ties between the two countries and be a key contributor in Oman’s economic welfare.”

The new corporate office of OQIC is situated in the heart of the business district in Al Khuwair. Reflecting OQIC’s ambition and commitment to the sultanate, it provides a harmonious and dynamic environment for people to work and collaborate in. The office hosts in-house training facilities that are focused on continuous learning and development especially to cater to young Omani nationals. The office is also equipped with a call centre, state-of-the-art meeting facilities and breakout areas.
