OMAN SECURES RELEASE OF FRENCH NATIONAL IN YEMEN
Muscat - In response to the Royal Directive of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on the request of the French government to secure the release of a French citizen detained in Yemen, Omani authorities coordinated with their Yemeni counterparts in Sana’a.
The French national was released and transferred to Oman on Tuesday evening in preparation for return to his country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The French President Emmanuel Macaron thanked His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani authorities for securing the release of the French national Alain Goma, who was detained for over fourand-a-half months in Yemen.
