Muscat-based student starts crowdfunding campaign for Oman Cancer Association
Muscat – A grade 12 student of ABA School Muscat and a musician who is known for his charitable pursuits has initiated a crowdfunding campaign for the Oman Cancer Association (OCA).
Seventeen year old Santrupth G R Vedanthi will reach out to his contact locally and internationally through emails and posting links on social media accounts. Those interested in contributing can use their credit or debit card to make the donation which will be deposited in the Oman Cancer Association’s bank account, stated a press release.
Santrupth met Dr Wahid al Kharusi, president of Oman Cancer Association who has assured him his full support for this initiative. Besides, Santrupth will be performing at the 15th edition of OCA Annual Walkathon to be held on October 30.
Speaking of his initiative, Santrupth said, “OCA has been spearheading the cause of can- cer awareness since it was officially established many years ago. The association has been advocating through patient support, empowerment, education and research.
“Having observed the predicament of cancer patients, their families running out of resources and the lack of awareness about cancer has made me want to support an organisation like Oman Cancer Association which has been doing an incredible job. I really will be able to raise a substantial amount.”
