MSM30 falls 0.2%; volumes up

Muscat - The benchmark index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) fell 0.2 per cent to close at 4,451.65 points on Tuesday.

While turnover dropped 14.72 per cent to RO1.92mn, volumes increased 34 per cent to 12.11mn shares.

All the sectoral indices closed in red territory. Financial index fell 0.13 per cent, Industrial index declined 0.76 per cent and Services index fell 0.3 per cent. The MSM Shariah index closed down by 0.27 per cent at 604.13 points.

Market breadth remained negative as seven companies closed up, while 18 companies closed down. The rest nine traded stocks closed flat for the day.

Top gainers were Bank Nizwa (2.38 per cent), Muscat Finance (2.35 per cent), Al Sharqiya Investment Holding (2.22 per cent) and Sohar Power (1.77 per cent).

Top losers were Al Madina Investment (-5.0 per cent), Oman Cement (-2.94 per cent), Al Batinah Power (-2.61 per cent) and Al Maha Ceramic (-2.38 per cent).
