Pro­ce­dures fi­nalised for re­newal of Oman­tel li­cense

Re­newal fees of RO75mn to be paid in two equal por­tions in 2019 and 2020

TRA has fi­nalised all the pro­ce­dures re­lat­ing to the re­newal of the com­pany’s first-class mo­bile tele­com li­cense

Oman­tel an­nounced that the Telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions Reg­u­la­tory Au­thor­ity (TRA) has fi­nalised all the pro­ce­dures re­lat­ing to the re­newal of the com­pany's first­class mo­bile tele­com li­cense.

The re­newal of Oman­tel's first-class mo­bile tele­com li­cense will be for a pe­riod of 15 years com­menc­ing on Fe­bru­ary 11, Oman­tel said in a dis­clo­sure sub­mit­ted to the Mus­cat Se­cu­ri­ties Mar­ket on Sun­day.

'A one-time li­cense re­newal fees of RO75mn will be levied by the TRA and be paid into two equal por­tions in 2019 and 2020,' Oman­tel said.

The li­cense re­newal in­cludes the spec­trum that are cur­rently

al­lo­cated to Oman­tel un­der the ex­ist­ing first-class mo­bile tele­com li­cense and will not in­clude 5G spec­trum, the com­pany said.

'We an­tic­i­pate that the terms and con­di­tions of the re­newal will be sub­stan­tially sim­i­lar to the terms of the ex­ist­ing li­cense and

will be pub­lished by the con­cerned gov­ern­ment en­ti­ties in the of­fi­cial gazette,' Oman­tel said in the dis­clo­sure.
