Baa­bood de­clared cham­pion at A’Saffa golf tour­na­ment

Un­der the pa­tron­age of Eng Hamoud bin Mo­hammed al Mahrouqi, direc­tor, Royal In­stal­la­tions Af­fairs, Royal Court Af­fairs, A’Saffa Foods, Oman’s largest fully in­te­grated poul­try pro­ject, re­cently or­gan­ised the ‘A’Saffa Golf Tour­na­ment 2019’ at the Ghala Golf Club course.

An 18-hole com­pe­ti­tion in stable­ford for­mat, the tour­na­ment was open to all golfers with a reg­is­tered hand­i­cap in the sul­tanate.

Yahya Baa­bood was de­clared ‘Cham­pion’ of this year’s A’Saffa Golf Tour­na­ment, with an im­pres­sive score of 43 Nett. The tour­na­ment wit­nessed the par­tic­i­pa­tion of over 100 avid golfers.

Talal al Balushi who scored an in­cred­i­ble 41 Nett score was the first run­ner-up, fol­lowed by Srini­vas Hab­ber, who was de­clared sec­ond run­ner-up with a Nett score of 39 points. The ladies di- vi­sion was won by Ave Peetri with a score of 34 Nett, and the ju­nior divi­sion was won by Nasih al Bar­wani with a Nett score of 44 points. ‘Near­est to the pin’ was won by Ali Hameed.

Con­grat­u­lat­ing the win­ners on their vic­to­ries, Eng Mo­hammed Suhail al Shan­fari, CEO of A’Saffa Foods, said, “We are ap­pre­cia­tive of all the hard work and ded­i­ca­tion that goes into this tour­na­ment, and are elated that the golf­ing com­mu­nity came to­gether once again this year to be a part of it. Apart from thank­ing those who par­tic­i­pated and made this year’s tour­na­ment a suc­cess, I would like to thank the Ghala Golf Club for host­ing the game at their world-class fa­cil­ity.”

After the tour­na­ment, play­ers were greeted with a de­li­cious A’Saffa bar­beque spread. The event came to close with a din­ner gala for par­tic­i­pants and other spe­cial in­vi­tees.
