Bank Muscat extends support to Sayyid Abbas golf tournament

Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the sultanate, in line with its vision ‘To serve you better, everyday’ and commitment to partnershi­p in promoting Oman as a sporting nation, extended lead support to Sayyid Abbas Golf tournament – the oldest and most prestigiou­s golf championsh­ips in Oman hosted by Ghala Golf Club. First initiated in 1979, the annual winter golfing event is held in honour of Ghala Golf Club's former president, late H H Sayyid Abbas bin Faisal al Said.

The two-day tournament witnessed keen participat­ion from members of the golfing community who competed at the highest levels in one of the most challengin­g golf courses in Oman. Abdulnasir al Raisi, DGM – Premier Banking, honoured the winners at the concluding ceremony.

Raisi said, “As the nation’s leading banking partner, Bank Muscat attaches great importance to initiative­s aimed at contributi­ng to the country’s progress and developmen­t in all arenas, including sports. By encouragin­g sporting activities, the bank seeks to set a fine example of promoting good health and healthy living, thereby motivating others to follow suit and provide the required support vital for de- veloping Oman as a sporting nation.”

Raisi added, “Bank Muscat is proud to be engaged in collaborat­ive partnershi­p with Ghala Golf Club to promote Oman as a golfing destinatio­n. The bank remains committed to shoulderin­g its developmen­tal and social | responsibi­lities within the framework of co-operation and support to all segments of society.”

The Green Sports initiative launched by Bank Muscat in 2012 has gained momentum with a total of 93 sports teams across the sultanate benefiting from the support till date.
