Washington, US - The US State Department has lauded Oman’s role as an important international partner in the fight against terrorism in the Middle East.

It appreciated Oman’s efforts in this field for the third year in a row. ‘ This is reflected in the security and stability witnessed by Oman under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. In 2018, Oman worked actively to prevent terrorists from launching attacks or using the country as a safe haven to do so,’ it said in its annual report.

The US State Department said that Oman has issued a series of official statements condemning terrorist attacks in the world in 2018. ‘ We commend the efforts of the Omani authorities in combating terrorism, especially the Sultan’s Armed Forces and the Royal Oman Police.’
