Kalabhavan’s art competition on Nov 15
Kalabhavan Institute of Music & Art House, a franchisee of Kochin Kalabhavan, will be conducting its annual open art competition titled ‘Little Fingers 2019’ on November 15. The competition will be held at Kalabhavan’s institute in Ghubra which is located near the Indian School Ghubra.
The art competition is for students interested in revealing their artistic talents through fine art. Students of all communities, who come under the age group of 5 to 13, can participate in the competition. Children will be divided into two groups as sub-junior and junior, and three from each category will be selected as winners. Children from 5 years to 9 come under sub-junior while 9 to 13 come under junior category.
The competition is open to all the students and not alone for those who learn art at Kalabhavan. Schools are requested to encourage students to participate in this competition and bring alive their artistic imagination and creativity.
The purpose of the competition is to increase understanding, knowledge and interest on the drawing as an art form among the students. The winners will be given away certificate and prizes during Kalabhavan’s Founder’s Day Programme which is scheduled to be held on November 29.
The theme chosen for this year’s art competition is ‘Save Water’. Water is one of the most precious natural resources and we are duty bound to preserve water from wastage. We select such topics as part of our social commitment to the society to inculcate and nurture good values among children.
Pre-registration is required to enrol for the competition. The registration forms are available with the institute across all its branches and it is also uploaded in the Facebook page of Kalabhavan Muscat.
The institute will provide drawing sheets to children and they can use any medium of art materials to draw the picture but it should be relevant to the theme in order to be considered for selection.
The registration has already begun for the competition.
The closing date to submit the registration form is November 9.
