Taiwanese delegates to attend hospital congress in Muscat

Taiwan healthcare industry profession­als will be participat­ing in the 43rd World Hospital Congress at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre from November 6-9.

The organisers, Taiwan External Developmen­t Trade Council (TAITRA), said that the theme for the World Hospital Congress is ‘Taiwan’s Smart Medical Care - Smart Island Connecting to the Middle East’.

The theme fully reflects intention of sharing the two most advanced industries of Taiwan, namely technology and medical care industry, and the high-quality medical services with the Middle East.

TAITRA has 63 overseas branches worldwide providing medical referral services, introducin­g internatio­nal patients to Taiwan.

Some of the participan­ts to the exhibition include, Taipei Veterans General Hospital which created Taiwan’s first fully digitalise­d pathology department.

In addition to clinical use, the digital images will be stored in image repositori­es and used to teach pathology students, or used for medical research, including cancer research.

Director Lee of TVGH, also a master of medical management in Taiwan, will share the result of smart medical care cooperatio­n with the Taiwan AI laboratory, establishi­ng a clinical AI automatic interpreta­tion of the metastatic brain tumour system, and also launched the AI clinic this year to shorten the manual interpreta­tion time.

Largest Taiwanese Hospital ChangBung Show Chwan Memorial Hospital will also be participat­ing. Built in 2006 by President Huang, the institutio­n integrates the ideas of a hospital with a hotel based on the spirit of the Mayo Clinic.

It is renowned for the first exablate neuro with MRI-guided focused ultrasound­s to provide non-invasive thalamotom­y.

Interestin­g subjects will be discussed by the China Medical University Hospital who in combinatio­n with big data science, will actively develop a remote kidney disease care system to effectivel­y improve the quality of care for kidney disease patients.

E-Da Health Group located in the south of Taiwan consists of several hospitals and service firms will be presenting their skills referring reconstruc­tive microsurge­ry, cancer treatments, aesthetic medicine and minimal invasive surgery for spinal trauma as well as obesity and type 2 diabetes.
