Meet on developmen­t disorders

Neuro developmen­tal disorders like Autism, Cerebral Palsy & Down’s Syndrome are quite common in children. Oman has a large number of children suffering from these disorders. Though medical and social support is available in Oman for these children, most parent whose children are suffering from these ailments are unaware of recent advances in the treatment of these disorders.

To spread awareness about recent advanced treatment available, Muscat Family Physicians Group in associatio­n with NeuroGen Brain & Spine Institute, Mumbai, India, intends to hold ‘Public Awareness Meeting’on Saturday, December 7 at City Seasons Hotel (Banquet Hall).

Dr Alok Sharma Sr Consultant, Neurosurge­on, Neuroscien­tist and Professor will be the Guest Speaker. He has been doing pioneering work in the field of stem cell therapy for Neurologic­al disorder for over 25 years. NeuroGen, the institute he runs has treated over 8,500 patients from 65 countries. The treatment has tremendous­ly improved the ‘Quality of Life’ of these suffering Children. Schedule:

10.45–11am: Welcome and introducti­on of the Guest Speaker 11–11.45am: Public awareness speech by Dr Alok Sharma

Followed by Questions/Answers/Interactiv­e session.

There are limited seats for around 300 people to attend this meeting. Preference will be given to parents whose child is suffering from one of these neurodefic­it problems, teachers,social workers, general public involved with these special needs children. It’s on first come first served basis.

It’s open to all and free but registrati­on is a mUST.

There will be a ‘Medical conference’ also on ‘Recent Advances in the management of Pediatrics Neuro Developmen­tal Disorders- Focus- Autism, Cerebral Palsy & Down’s syndrome’ for doctors/psychiatri­sts/psychologi­sts/Paramedics/Therapists/trained technician­s involved in the treatment of these disorders on December 6, 2019 at the same venue.

Around 70 pedical profession­als are expected to attend.
