Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate, marked the 49th National Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm in the celebrations held at its Head Office. The bank’s Management Team and employees enthusiastically took part in the celebrations to commemorate the Blessed Renaissance of Oman under His Majesty the Sultan’s leadership over the past 49 years.
The momentous occasion was celebrated with great zeal as employees expressed their utmost admiration and gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said for his visionary leadership that has completely transformed the nation in just a few decades. National pride and fervour were on full display at the Bank Muscat Head Office, which was brightly decorated on the occasion with the National colours.

Al Hashar, Chief Executive Officer, Bank Muscat, said: “On the occasion of the 49th National Day, Bank Muscat is honoured to congratulate and extend our best wishes to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the architect of modern Oman. The great achievements and all-round progress made by the Sultanate are the result of His Majesty’s inspiring leadership and farsighted vision for the people of Oman. Omani citizens have been the focus of His Majesty the Sultan’s attention from the very beginning, which is well reflected today in the qualified national cadre occupying the highest positions across all fields.”

Today, the bank continues to contribute significantly to the rapid growth and development of the Nation and its people. With 3,534 Omani employees, the bank has achieved 95% Omanisation across its various departments and sections. Bank Muscat has also achieved remarkable successes in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability through the implementation of many sustainable initiatives and programs, which have benefited many citizens. Furthermore, it has contributed a lot to the development of the Omani society in a number of spheres including financial literacy, sustainable tourism, green environment and an enriched lifestyle.
Some of the major CSR programmes include partnering with the Ministry of Tourism to enhance the heritage village of Misfat al Abriyeen in the wilayat of Al Hamra. The bank is also constructing a green park in Al Khoud, which will benefit a large number of people residing in the area. The Tadhamun programme has provided assistance to over 1,000 social welfare families over the last six years, while the unique Green Sports programme has supported over 100 sports teams across the country. The Jesr Al Mustaqbal programme has benefitted 54 young people from social welfare families and supported them in pursuing higher education.
The visitors to the bank’s Head Office also joined the National Day celebrations, which glorified the Sultanate’s heritage and culture. The highlights of the celebrations included a performance by the Omani Scouts Music Band as well as a performance by a traditional band representing the country’s rich folklore. Local artist Issa Hamdoon Al Harthy gave a live demonstration by giving the final touches to a portrait of His Majesty the Sultan using threads. The bank also hosted a special Al Mazyona National Day prize draw offering a total prize money of RO 147,000 shared by 49 lucky customers across the Sultanate who won RO 3,000 each.

The Al Mazyona 2019 scheme will draw to a close in a few weeks’ time with a special end-of-year RO 1.5 million draw with two winners taking home mega prizes of RO 250,000 each.
Other exciting Al Mazyona prizes on offer include the 10 monthly prizes of RO 20,000 each, 10 year-end prizes of RO 30,000 each and 2 special yearend prizes of RO 100,000 each for Asalah Priority Banking customers. Al Jawhar Privilege Banking customers have 10 monthly prizes of RO 10,000 each, 10 year-end prizes of RO 20,000 each and two special year-end prizes of RO 50,000 each specially reserved for them. There are also a number of prizes reserved across different prize categories such as women, regional winners, loyalty, youth, etc.
To enhance public participation in National Day celebrations, the bank has also launched the special hashtag #NujadidAlahd on its social media channels. Two special competitions were launched and promoted through the bank’s social media sites (Instagram and Twitter) for the general public to promote the National Day celebrations.
