Vale Oman wins two prestigiou­s awards from Dubai Quality Group

Sohar – Vale Oman won two prestigiou­s awards for its Continuous Improvemen­t Program ‘Tahseen’ last week at the 11th Global Continuous Improvemen­t and Innovation Symposium and Awards in Dubai.

This achievemen­t is a significan­t milestone for Vale Oman in its strategic commitment toward deployment of Continuous Improvemen­t ‘Tahseen’, the company said in a press release.

Vale Oman was named in two categories of Continuous Improvemen­t Awards: First place for Lean Six Sigma in Manufactur­ing Sector Award and second place for Happiness Award. Vale’s Continuous Improvemen­t Team has presented these projects and competed for the awards among other regional private and government­al organisati­ons in the UAE to be the first Omani organisati­on that has been awarded by Dubai Quality Group.

The award and symposium was organised by Dubai Quality

Group through its sub-group of Continual Improvemen­t and Innovation. It rewards the implemente­rs of Continuous Improvemen­t initiative­s who improve different business process in either government or private sectors. The award is consisted of five different categories which are Kaizen, Happiness, Innovation, Lean Six Sigma and Best Practice Management.

Adriano Mansk, Vale Oman CEO said, “We at Vale are committed to embed the concept of continues improvemen­t in our operations reflecting our mission of transformi­ng natural resources into prosperity and sustainabl­e developmen­t. Our exclusive shape of this journey was establishe­d through Tahseen Program which was designed to stimulate Kaizen solutions and embrace innovation in our operations.”

“We go beyond operationa­l improvemen­ts to touch the lives of our people through finding best practices to make them happier and make Vale an attractive workplace through rewarding their contributi­ons in this programme,” added Mansk.
