Khaleel al Toobi, di­rec­tor of tourism in Dakhliyah gov­er­norate, said, “Jebel Akhdar has seen huge growth in tourist ar­rivals, par­tic­u­larly Euro­peans thanks to its unique to­pog­ra­phy. The green moun­tains with its beau­ti­ful farms, trees and ex­otic fruits is one of sul­tanate’s big­gest at­trac­tions.”

Tourist ser­vices cen­tre

Marhoon bin Saeed al Mahrouqi, a tourist guide at the Tourism Ser­vices Cen­tre, said the site is well-equipped to cater to vis­i­tors to the area, “The Tourist Ser­vices Cen­tre is lo­cated on the way to the moun­tain road. Opened in 2014, the cen­tre pro­vides im­por­tant in­for­ma­tion and route maps of the place. A num­ber of brochures on im­por­tant tourist points and the pub­lic ser­vices are also avail­able.”

Vis­i­tors can also pick up hand­i­craft items unique to Oman made by mem­bers of the Omani Women’s As­so­ci­a­tion and Pub­lic Author­ity for Craft In­dus­tries.
