China photography exhibition held
Muscat - The China Dunhuang Cultural Heritage Photography Exhibition was held at the Photographic Society of Oman (PSO) in Seeb from December 8-14.
This exhibition was supported by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC), Chinese Embassy in Oman, China Photographers Association, Dunhuang Academy, PSO, and organised by Gansu Photographers Association, Dunhuang Research Institute of Cultural Relics Digitalization Institute
The opening ceremony was attended by guests of honour Li Qianguang, vice chairman of CFLAC, H E Li Ling bing, Ambassador of China to Oman, Sayyid Ahmed Abdullah aI Busaidi, chairman of the Photographic Society of Oman and other dignitaries.
Following the opening ceremony, Wu Jian, chairman of Gansu Photographers Association cum director of Dunhuang Research Institute explained each exhibit to the guests and visitors about the photography, in addition to the historical, cultural and artistic aspects of the cultural heritage represented by Dunhuang.
The exhibition showcased 40 photographs taken by professional photographers from Dunhuang Academy, with famous historical and cultural heritage on the Silk Road represented by Dunhuang as the theme.
The photos displayed comprised colourful murals, coloured statues, magnificent desert views, and historic sites from new angles.
Through the artistic expression of light and shadow, and with the help of high technology, the photographers led visitors through the famous silk road spanning thousands of years and thousands of miles.
