Pakistan School Muscat organises Inter-House Sports Gala

In sequel to the annual tradition, Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) set the stage for the most awaited students’ event – InterHouse Sports Gala -2019-20 in the cricket ground of Pakistan School Muscat.

The event is organised each year to set the course of sportsmans­hip to be instilled in the students.

Kiran Akbar, chargé d'affaires, Embassy of Pakistan, marked the occasion with her valued presence as the chief guest accompanie­d by Mohammad Ishaq – counsellor (Trade and Education) Embassy of Pakistan, A H Raja – ex-chairman PSC and member Al Sawaiq Building PS Musannah, Dr Ikram Burney from Sultan Qaboos University, Tajamal Iqbal as the guests of honour.

The dignitarie­s included Dr Sharif Ataullah, Mr and Mrs Muhammad Aleem, Khadim

Hussain and Nawaz al Balushi along with huge number of parents of the students.

Muhammad Zia ul Haq Siddiqui - chairman Steering Committee, Mian Moeen Nawaz – director Finance, Steering Committee, Nasir Nawaz - principal Pakistan School Muscat welcomed the guests.

In the concluding ceremony of the sports week, participan­ts in sports kits and the supporters of the participan­ts were to be seen all around the PSM cricket ground.

Students claded in red, blue, green and yellow represente­d

Johar, Iqbal, Jinnah and Sir Syed respective­ly.

Students participat­ed in different races. Tug of War final, though a short match but the most thrilling event in which the boys of Green house proved to be worthy winners along with Johar House on the rung of the ladder as the runner-up. Among the amusing events was another Tug of War played by the parents and teachers which got the audience off their seats; eventually the team of the Parents winning it.

Overall, in Junior School, Johar House (Red) was announced to be the runner-up house whereas Jinnah House stood on the victory stand as the winner.

In the senior school, Jinnah House (Green) stood next to the winning house as the runner-up while Johar House (Red) has nailed the event.

Fizza Javed of Red House was declared the best athlete from the girls’ side while Mohsin Hussain and Shozab Sohail won the titles as the best athletes in the boys’ teams.

Colourful and thumping PT display brought the excitement to the spot which was followed by a karate show displaying the fun and toughness of the participan­ts.

It was greatly applauded and commended by all.

Final prizes were given away by the chief guest. The winning teams’ captains collected trophies while the members were awarded with individual medals. All the participan­ts were awarded for their efforts in sports.

The Sports Gala 2019-20 was drawn to close with the shinning medals around participan­ts’ necks, trophies in their hands and the sporty spirits in the heart.
