Emer­gency ex­er­cise at Salalah Air­port to­day

A full-scale emer­gency re­sponse ex­er­cise at the Salalah Air­port will be held on Tues­day, De­cem­ber 24, from 8-10am, Oman Air­ports an­nounced on Mon­day.

It stated that the step comes within its com­mit­ment to up­hold the high­est stan­dards of re­sponse to emer­gency sit­u­a­tions un­der the su­per­vi­sion of the Pub­lic Au­thor­ity for Civil Avi­a­tion (PACA) and its strate­gic part­ners.

‘There­fore, emer­gency ve­hi­cles such as am­bu­lances and po­lice cars will be run­ning from the air­port to hos­pi­tals and vice versa. All nec­es­sary preparatio­ns have been ini­ti­ated to en­sure a smooth train­ing ex­er­cise, en­sur­ing that it does not im­pact air­port oper­a­tions and traf­fic.’

The ex­er­cise is be­ing or­gan­ised in par­tic­i­pa­tion and co­op­er­a­tion with PACA’s strate­gic part­ners like ROP rep­re­sented by Dho­far Gov­er­norate, the Direc­torate Gen­eral of Air­port Se­cu­rity, Royal Air Force of Oman, Pub­lic Au­thor­ity for Civil De­fence and Am­bu­lances, and the Min­istry of De­fence rep­re­sented by the Mil­i­tary Hos­pi­tal, En­gi­neer­ing Ser­vices in Salalah, Sul­tan Qa­boos Hos­pi­tal, Cri­sis Man­age­ment and Emer­gency Cen­tre, and Ground Handling Ser­vices Unit.
