The Annual Day celebration of Kindergarten and Classes 1 and 2 of Indian School Ghubra (ISG) was held recently.

Dr C M Najeeb, vice chairman, Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman too graced the occasion. Also present was Sunil Kattakath – convenor, School Management Committee.
The programme began with the Royal Anthem of Oman followed by the National Anthem of India. The principal, Papri Ghosh welcomed the chief guest and thanked her for her gracious presence.
The students of Classes 1 and 2 rendered a rousing welcome song setting the tone for the cultural extravaganza to follow. The students of Kindergarten presented a show titled ‘Spectrum of Colours’. The talented tiny tots charmed the audience with songs and dances depicting the many meanings and moods associated with the different colours.
Not to be outdone, the students of Classes 1 and 2 presented a musical performance titled ‘The Joy of Living’. The energy and beauty of the children’s performance truly reflected the happiness they experience on being alive and witnessing the many wonders of nature.
The audience of distinguished guests and parents watched with delight, as the children flitted about the stage in well choreographed movements, clad in tastefully designed costumes. They were highly appreciative of the dexterous use of creative and attractive props to highlight the message that colour, beauty and joy can be found in great abundance in our lives.
The mesmerising evening concluded with a vote of thanks.
