Mid­dle East Col­lege or­gan­ises GFP Fest

Mid­dle East Col­lege (MEC) or­gan­ised its fourth GFP Fest 2019, at the Stu­dent Hub, Knowl­edge Oasis Muscat.

The event was held in the pres­ence of Dr Ki­ran G R, dean, MEC, as­so­ci­ate deans, MEC staff and stu­dents.

The event pro­vides stu­dents in Gen­eral Foun­da­tion Pro­gramme with a plat­form for show­cas­ing their skills in pre­sen­ta­tion and com­mu­ni­ca­tion.

Dr Samia Naqvi, head of Cen­tre for Foun­da­tion Stud­ies at MEC, ex­pressed the im­por­tance of such events and ac­tiv­i­ties in en­hanc­ing the ed­u­ca­tional ex­pe­ri­ence of the stu­dents in the higher ed­u­ca­tion sec­tor.

She de­clared, “The GFP Fest is or­gan­ised by the Cen­ter for Foun­da­tion Stud­ies at Mid­dle East Col­lege to pro­vide a plat­form to Gen­eral Foun­da­tion Pro­gramme stu­dents to show­case their tal­ents by en­gag­ing them in var­i­ous co-cur­ric­u­lar ac­tiv­i­ties and com­pe­ti­tions.”

She added, “Major high­lights of the fest in­clude Na­tions’ Gallery, Video mak­ing com­ple­tion on Mid­dle East Col­lege Learner At­tributes, Anti-Pla­gia­rism Poster De­sign Com­pe­ti­tion, Math Brain Teasers Com­pe­ti­tion and Hard­ware As­sem­bly Com­pe­ti­tion.”

Mid­dle East Col­lege or­gan­ises var­i­ous ex­tracur­ric­u­lar and cocur­ric­u­lar ac­tiv­i­ties and events through­out the year to en­cour­age the stu­dents to be ac­tive and to en­hance their knowl­edge and skills.

The col­lege adopts the lat­est teach­ing and learn­ing mech­a­nisms to pro­vide stu­dents with the best ed­u­ca­tional ex­pe­ri­ences.
