Sohar Internatio­nal supports graduation of 550 students in health specialiti­es

Reinforcin­g its role as a facilitato­r of socio-economic developmen­t through empowermen­t of youth in different profession­al fields, Sohar Internatio­nal recently supported the graduation ceremony of the Oman College of Health Sciences and Higher Institute of Health Specialist­s.

Honouring over 550 students from different health specialiti­es on their graduation success, the event was held under the auspices of Dr Said Hamed Said al Rubaii, secretary general of the Education Council. Also present at the ceremony were H E Dr Ali Talib Ali al Hinai, Undersecre­tary for Planning Affairs in the Ministry of Health, Khalil al Hedaifi, chief retail banking officer, with other senior officials from the bank’s retail segment.

Receiving a token of appreciati­on for the bank’s support, Hedaifi said, “As part of our new brand identity and vision of becoming a world-class Omani services company, the bank has always supported such initiative­s that help customers, community and people to prosper and grow. It gives me immense pleasure to be a part of this celebratio­n over the academic achievemen­ts of our future healthcare profession­als. I would like to congratula­te them on their achievemen­ts and wish them a lasting success in their respective careers.

“Such initiative­s laud upon the efforts taken by the Ministry of Health in building the capacities of Omanis in crucial and critical sectors like healthcare.”

He added, “Sohar Internatio­nal is delighted to be the main sponsors of this event and is confident that these individual­s will play a crucial role in enriching the lives of others as well as the economy as a whole.”

Partnershi­ps with the public sector organisati­ons in celebratin­g local talent has been a strong focus area for the bank and is in line with its promise towards playing an active role in Oman’s overall socio-economic developmen­t.

This commitment is in the direction of developmen­t of local talent which is also deeply rooted in the organisati­on’s purpose of helping people ‘win’. In support of this commitment, the bank has sponsored many youth-related initiative­s such as awarding high performing students in Injaz Innovation Camp and Jalsat Mulhimoon, among others.
