NBO clinches best mobile banking applicatio­n award

Cementing its position as an innovation driver in the banking sector, National Bank of Oman (NBO) has been awarded Best Mobile Banking Applicatio­n - Oman 2019 by Internatio­nal Finance magazine. It is the latest in a string of accolades the bank has received for its pioneering mobile app, which offers customers a cutting-edge and seamless banking experience at the touch of a button.

“In today’s increasing­ly connected world, customer expectatio­ns continue to evolve at a rapid pace. They have neither the time or the inclinatio­n to go to the branch, they want their banking on the go. With our mobile app we tap into this need, allowing customers the freedom to bank how they want, whenever they want making it convenient and hassle-free,” said Abdul Karim al Hinai – deputy general manager - Alternativ­e Channels - Retail Banking at NBO.

Celebratin­g excellence in the finance industry, the Internatio­nal Finance magazine awards serve to highlight the accomplish­ments of banks leading in innovation, infrastruc­ture developmen­t and customer centricity. Held annually, the award identifies a variety of categories, selecting outstandin­g examples of industry talent, leadership skills, industry net worth and capability on an internatio­nal platform.

“We’re delighted to have been recognised with another award, which is a testament of our ongoing drive to deliver state-ofthe-art products and services, and to provide a superior customer experience through technologi­cal excellence,” added Hinai.

Developed in-house, and available for all residents of Oman (both NBO and non-NBO customers), the app combines versatilit­y, reliabilit­y and convenienc­e with high-tech features such as Biometric log-in, and mPin. Users can perform a whole host of tasks including opening accounts, paying utility and credit card bills, locating branches and ATMs, applying for products such as the Easy Payment Plan (EPP) and Badeel (Prepaid Cards), making local and internatio­nal money transfers, etc.
