Sandan Industrial Park set to open on Jan 22
Muscat – Sandan Development on Monday announced the readiness of the Sandan Industrial Park, which is expected to witness the initial opening on January 22.
Sandan Industrial Park is the first integrated industrial city in Oman which is managed by the private sector. The commercial activities at the park began to increase significantly with recent operations of various auto showrooms, while opening of other activities will follow, especially after the initial opening.
At a press conference on Monday, Sandan Development officials confirmed that Sandan Industrial Park has all specifications and services as a unique model in Oman. The press conference also saw the signing of an agreement with Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing Co to establish a petrol station in the Sandan Industrial Park in the coming months.
Muhammad bin Sulaiman al Kindy, chairperson of Sandan Development, expressed happiness with the achievements on the ground in Sandan Industrial Park within record time to be ready to do business and keep pace with the aspirations of investors and visitors.
Kindy indicated that the strategic location on Muscat Expressway and the integration of services with the presence of government and private service institutions all make Sandan Industrial Park a favourable destination for investment. He noted that a number of activities have already opened, especially auto showrooms, which have an active movement. He expected Sandan Industrial Park to receive more than 15 thousand visitors daily in addition to thousands of workers in the activities that it would include in the future, which would exceed 1,200.
Ali Sulaiman, CEO of Sandan Development, said that Sandan Industrial Park would be the central market for the auto trade in terms of purchase and sale through the existing showrooms and associated commercial and industrial activities.
He explained, “In addition to showrooms, the park will include auto repair workshops and the largest centre for scrap. Communications companies, travel and tourism offices and financial institutions, including Bank Muscat and exchange offices are there to facilitate business.”
Sandan Industrial Park includes the largest cluster of used auto showrooms in the sultanate in addition to other support services for the auto market.
