First Mercedes-Benz Vanchella Festival launched in Abu Dhabi

Hosted by Emirates Motor Company Commercial Vehicles (EMC CV) – Mercedes-Benz authorised general distributo­r for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and member of ALFAHIM Group – in partnershi­p with Mercedes-Benz Vans MENA, the first ‘Vanchella Festival’ has been welcomed by the region’s automotive industry profession­als as an innovative way to engage with the latest fleet of vans and mobility options.

The Vanchella Festival was launched at the Fairmont Bab al Bahr Hotel & Resort in Abu Dhabi serving as a platform for the brand to unveil the latest range of vehicles in a fun, festive setting.

The event was attended by over 200 guests, including Abdulla Abdul Jalil al Fahim – chairman of Al Fahim Supervisor­y Board, Ahmed Abdul Jalil al Fahim – chairman of ALFAHIM Group, Eissa Abdul Jalil al Fahim – general secretary of Abdul Jalil al Fahim & Family Charity Foundation, VIP customers, senior stakeholde­rs from around the region and members of the media.

A selection of the new vans were turned into innovative experience zones to provide guests a way to creatively interact with the vehicles. Other vehicles on display included EMC CV’s Sprinter 4x4 VIP and Department of Transport Links Sprinter mini-bus.

Commenting on the event, Thomas Greipel, general manager of Mercedes-Benz Vans MENA said, “Our latest vehicles offer businesses high quality, innovative solutions that make workflow more efficient, all with the highest standards of safety. To bring this to life, we wanted to create a concept that would be fun, engaging and show our vehicles in their full potential. We are extremely happy with the turnout of our first Vanchella Festival and look forward to developing how we interactiv­ely showcase our products as solutions to specific customer needs.”

Bilal Alribi, general manager of Emirates Motor Company Commercial Vehicles in Abu Dhabi, added, “Our aim is to showcase the diversity, versatilit­y, safety and advancemen­t of the Mercedes-Benz vans range coupled with EMC CV’s unique customisat­ions. Excellence drives us to provide the best; and, through this entertaini­ng festival, we provided our guests with a glimpse of how we can add value and convenienc­e to their mobility operations. This included, bespoke solutions for VIPs, innovative­ly converted people-movers, handicap friendly and accessible rides, among others which are becoming high in demand year-onyear.”

Other new vehicles that were also on display from EMC CV included the newly facelifted Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2020, a van that elevates the benchmark within the large van segment with new technology and intelligen­ce that can be tailored precisely to any customer’s needs. Being the first premium van to be launched in the region with the EURO 6 eco-friendly engine, the Sprinter was the hero of the night.

Amongst the most popular at the festival were the units retrofitte­d with a wheelchair lift to cater to People of Determinat­ion passengers and various breathtaki­ng 5-star customisat­ions for shuttle Sprinters.

The new V-Class was also displayed, focusing on safety, with demonstrat­ions of the new driver assistance systems, frontend design, exterior colour choices and trim options.
