Pakistan Social Club celebrates Quaid’s day and welcomes new ambassador
Pakistan Social Club celebrated the 143rd birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and welcomed the new Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman H E K K Ahsan Wagan at Crowne Plaza Muscat.
The chairman of Pakistan Social Club Mian Mohammad Muneer received the guest along with directors of Pakistan Social Club. The programme started with the recitation of the Q’uran by Hafiz Tamim Tahir followed by a hamad by Khalid Mahboob.
Vice chairman of Pakistan Social Club Shabir Ahmed Nadeem welcomed the guests and described the struggle of Quaid for an independent country.
Documentaries on Quaid’s message and the previous tenure of H E K K Wagan in Oman were presented by the IT Wing of Pakistan Social Club, headed by the director IT Wing Kashif Ahmad Zeam, followed by a national song performed by Asif Raza Sultani. Kiran Akbar, head of Chancellery Pakistan Embassy gave a brief introduction about the new ambassador and described his achievements in different countries.
H E Wagan thanked the Pakistan Social Club for arranging such a beautiful event and providing him the opportunity to interact with the community. He expressed his gratitude to Quaid-e-Azam and emphasised to follow his ideologies - Unity, faith and hard work - to achieve the goals of success. He also thanked His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the government for providing opportunities to the communities in Oman to work freely.
The programme was concluded by a cake cutting ceremony followed by a dinner after which everyone prayed for the continuous development of Oman and for the health and long life of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
The general secretary Zeam Akhtar thanked directors of Pakistan Social Cub Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Ali Fazal, Qmar Riaz, Asghar Ali and Kaleem Akhtar for their support in organising the event.
