HM receives report from chief of state audit institution
Muscat - Sheikh Nasser bin Hilal al Ma’awali, chairman of the State’s Financial and Administrative Audit Institution (SFAAI), on Sunday submitted the annual report to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
The report outlines the outcome of SFAAI’s tasks and activities. It utilised its full capabilities to achieve the objectives set.
SFAAI also sent copies of the report to the Council of Ministers, the State Council and the Majlis A’Shura in implementation of Article 29 of the State’s Financial and Administrative Audit Law, promulgated under Royal Decree 111/2011. It stipulates that SFAAI will issue an annual report of its tasks and submit it to His Majesty the Sultan, besides sending copies of the same to the Council of Ministers, the Majlis A’Shura and the State Council before the end of the subsequent year.
The annual report covers observations and findings of SFAAI as part of its enforcement of auditing procedures in units of the state’s administrative apparatus, public companies and authorities that come under its monitoring authority across the sultanate’s governorates.
As many as 186 public bodies were inspected by SFAAI through 2018.
The SFAAI’s tasks covered observations, findings and audit reports which were grouped in main sections and sub-sections of the annual report.
