HM re­ceives re­port from chief of state au­dit in­sti­tu­tion

Muscat - Sheikh Nasser bin Hi­lal al Ma’awali, chair­man of the State’s Fi­nan­cial and Ad­min­is­tra­tive Au­dit In­sti­tu­tion (SFAAI), on Sun­day sub­mit­ted the an­nual re­port to His Majesty Sul­tan Qa­boos bin Said.

The re­port out­lines the out­come of SFAAI’s tasks and ac­tiv­i­ties. It utilised its full ca­pa­bil­i­ties to achieve the ob­jec­tives set.

SFAAI also sent copies of the re­port to the Coun­cil of Min­is­ters, the State Coun­cil and the Ma­jlis A’Shura in im­ple­men­ta­tion of Ar­ti­cle 29 of the State’s Fi­nan­cial and Ad­min­is­tra­tive Au­dit Law, pro­mul­gated un­der Royal De­cree 111/2011. It stip­u­lates that SFAAI will is­sue an an­nual re­port of its tasks and sub­mit it to His Majesty the Sul­tan, be­sides send­ing copies of the same to the Coun­cil of Min­is­ters, the Ma­jlis A’Shura and the State Coun­cil be­fore the end of the sub­se­quent year.

The an­nual re­port cov­ers ob­ser­va­tions and find­ings of SFAAI as part of its en­force­ment of au­dit­ing pro­ce­dures in units of the state’s ad­min­is­tra­tive ap­pa­ra­tus, pub­lic com­pa­nies and au­thor­i­ties that come un­der its mon­i­tor­ing au­thor­ity across the sul­tanate’s gov­er­norates.

As many as 186 pub­lic bod­ies were in­spected by SFAAI through 2018.

The SFAAI’s tasks cov­ered ob­ser­va­tions, find­ings and au­dit re­ports which were grouped in main sec­tions and sub-sec­tions of the an­nual re­port.
