Heavy rain ex­pected in Oman from to­mor­row

Low pres­sure will lead to heavy rain­fall in sev­eral parts of the sul­tanate start­ing from Thurs­day till Sun­day, ac­cord­ing to the Na­tional Multi Haz­ard Early Warn­ing Cen­ter of the Pub­lic Au­thor­ity for Civil Avi­a­tion.

The au­thor­ity stated that there are chances of show­ers with vary­ing in­ten­sity and oc­ca­sional thun­der­show­ers start­ing from Thurs­day night af­fect­ing Musandam gov­er­norate. ‘This weather phe­nom­e­non will ex­tend on Fri­day to af­fect Bu­raimi, North and South Bati­nah, Dhahi­rah, Muscat, Dakhliyah, North and South Shar­qiyah.’

Sea state will be mod­er­ate to rough along most of the sul­tanate coasts with wave height be­tween 1.5 and 2.5m.

The Pub­lic Au­thor­ity for Civil Avi­a­tion has ad­vised all to take pre­cau­tion dur­ing rain and not to cross wadis and check the sea state be­fore sail­ing. ‘Fol­low our weather bul­letins to get lat­est up­dates,’ the au­thor­ity said.
