GPI organises sapling plantation programme
Gulf Plastic Industries (GPI) recently organised a tree plantation programme as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative when it celebrated ‘Gulf Plastic Industries Environment Day’ with Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centre for of Disabled Children in Amerat.
The students took part in
GPI‘s tree plantation drive inside their centre.
They planted fruit saplings like lemon, orange, guava, sapodilla, long mulberry and figs, etc to make their rehabilitation programme more effective with gardening. It will be helpful for their institution to develop occupational therapy for handicapped children and also bring them to mingle with the community and also make the institution more green.
The Gulf Plastic Industries provided some indoor plants like ficus and dracaena.
Asok Kumar, GM of the company, gave a brief speech about the service of Gulf Plastic Industries Co through CSR programme to the society. Especially to choose to provide service for the handicapped children to promote their life skills and make them become normal and mingle with the society. And also motivate the teachers, staff and children to engage in tree plantation to get good fruits, vegetables, good air, and take rest under the shadow of trees and get medicinal benefits, etc.
To promote the drawing skills of the disabled children, GPI organised a drawing programme. The disabled children enthusiastically participated in the drawing programme and tree plantation.
The GM of GPI thanked His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the Ministry of Social Development – Oman, for their great support and thanked the rehabilitation centre management to have given this opportunity to implement GPI Corporate Social Responsibility programme of tree plantation along with Gulf Plastic Industries Environment Day activity.
