GPI or­gan­ises sapling plan­ta­tion pro­gramme

Gulf Plas­tic In­dus­tries (GPI) re­cently or­gan­ised a tree plan­ta­tion pro­gramme as part of its Cor­po­rate So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity ini­tia­tive when it cel­e­brated ‘Gulf Plas­tic In­dus­tries En­vi­ron­ment Day’ with Al Wafa Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Cen­tre for of Dis­abled Chil­dren in Amerat.

The stu­dents took part in

GPI‘s tree plan­ta­tion drive in­side their cen­tre.

They planted fruit saplings like lemon, or­ange, guava, sapodilla, long mul­berry and figs, etc to make their re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion pro­gramme more ef­fec­tive with gar­den­ing. It will be help­ful for their in­sti­tu­tion to de­velop oc­cu­pa­tional ther­apy for hand­i­capped chil­dren and also bring them to min­gle with the com­mu­nity and also make the in­sti­tu­tion more green.

The Gulf Plas­tic In­dus­tries pro­vided some in­door plants like fi­cus and dra­caena.

Asok Ku­mar, GM of the com­pany, gave a brief speech about the ser­vice of Gulf Plas­tic In­dus­tries Co through CSR pro­gramme to the so­ci­ety. Espe­cially to choose to pro­vide ser­vice for the hand­i­capped chil­dren to pro­mote their life skills and make them be­come nor­mal and min­gle with the so­ci­ety. And also mo­ti­vate the teach­ers, staff and chil­dren to en­gage in tree plan­ta­tion to get good fruits, vegetables, good air, and take rest un­der the shadow of trees and get medic­i­nal ben­e­fits, etc.

To pro­mote the draw­ing skills of the dis­abled chil­dren, GPI or­gan­ised a draw­ing pro­gramme. The dis­abled chil­dren en­thu­si­as­ti­cally par­tic­i­pated in the draw­ing pro­gramme and tree plan­ta­tion.

The GM of GPI thanked His Majesty Sul­tan Qa­boos bin Said and the Min­istry of So­cial Devel­op­ment – Oman, for their great sup­port and thanked the re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion cen­tre man­age­ment to have given this op­por­tu­nity to im­ple­ment GPI Cor­po­rate So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity pro­gramme of tree plan­ta­tion along with Gulf Plas­tic In­dus­tries En­vi­ron­ment Day ac­tiv­ity.
