His Majesty Sultan Haitham accepts condolences from world leaders
Muscat - His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bin Taimour met several world leaders who arrived in the sultanate on Sunday to condole the death of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham met King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of the UK, King Hamad bin Issa al Khalifa of Bahrain, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Sabah al Ahmed al Jabir al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, President Kais Saied of Tunisia, President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi of Yemen, King Abdullah II Ibn al Hussein of Jordan, President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Abdelaziz Djerad, Prime Minister of Algeria, and Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of Djibouti.
He also met Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of Armed Forces of the UAE, Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE and Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council of the UAE and Ruler of Fujairah, Dr Mohammad Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister of Iran, Ben Wallace, Secretary of State for Defence and Gen Sir Nicholas Carter, Chief of the Defence Staff in the UK, Hassan Mohammed Idris, Member of Sudan Sovereignty Council, and Fuat Oktay, Vice President and Envoy of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham also met Nicolas Sarkozy, former President of France, Prince Charles of Wales, Fuad Mohammed Hussein, Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Envoy of President Barham Salih of Iraq, and King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba of Tooro Kingdom, Envoy of President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda.
During their meetings with His Majesty Sultan Haitham, the world leaders expressed heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies on the demise of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.
They prayed to the Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in peace in paradise, and grant His Majesty Sultan Haitham, the Royal family and the Omani people patience.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham expressed his sincere thanks and appreciations for their sincere condolences and sympathies.
