HM receives messages from Iran, Bangladesh
His Majesty the Sultan also receives cables from Armenia, Kuwait
Muscat - His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq on Monday received cables of condolences from President Dr Hassan Rouhani of Iran, President Mohammad Abdul Hamid of Bangladesh, Nikol Pashinyan, PM of Armenia and Sheikh Nawaf al Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait on the demise of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour.
Message from Iran
In his cable, President Dr Hassan Rouhani said that he was deeply saddened to receive the news of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’ demise, offering condolences to His Majesty the Sultan, the Royal family and the Omani people.
President Rouhani said that His Majesty Sultan Qaboos ensured welfare and prosperity of the people and the country during five decades of his reign.
He added that the good ties between Oman and Iran have been based on the principles of amity and fraternity. It’s a model for good relations between neighbouring countries, he said.
President Rouhani said the Late Sultan was a man of wisdom and knowledge and played a key role in maintaining peace and stability in the region, praying to the Almighty Allah to rest the deceased’s soul in peace in paradise and grant the Omani people happiness and welfare.
Condolence cable from Bangladesh
His Majesty Sultan Haitham also received a cable of condolences from President Mohammad Abdul Hamid.
In the cable, President Hamid said that he was deeply saddened to receive the news of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’ death, reaffirming that he shares the Omani people’s grief on this enormous loss.
He said that the Late Sultan dedicated his efforts for the sultanate’s development.
President Hamid commended the contributions of Late Sultan in promoting relations between Oman and Bangladesh.
He wished Oman permanent progress and prosperity, hoping that the ties of friendship between the two countries will witness further progress.
Condolence cable from Prime Minister of Armenia
His Majesty Sultan Haitham received a cable of condolences from Nikol Pashinyan.
In his cable, Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia expressed sadness on the death of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.
He also expressed sincere condolences and sympathies and that of the friendly Armenian people, to His Majesty the Sultan, the Royal family and the Omani people.
The Prime Minister of Armenia reiterated that the demise of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos is not only a loss for the sultanate, but also to the region at large.
Cable from Crown Prince of Kuwait
His Majesty Sultan Haitham has received a cable of condolences from Sheikh Nawaf.
In his cable, Sheikh Nawaf expressed deep sorrow and sadness on the death of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.
He said that the death of the great leader who devoted his life to serve the homeland and people is an immense loss, not only for the sultanate, which witnessed a comprehensive renaissance covering various fields, but also for the Arab and Islamic nations.
The Crown Prince of Kuwait expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to His Majesty the Sultan, the Royal family and the Omani people.
He prayed to the Almighty Allah to rest the soul of Late Sultan in peace in paradise, and grant His Majesty Sultan Haitham patience and success to continue the march of welfare and growth being witnessed by the sultanate.
