Omani hon­oured for fel­low­ship in res­pi­ra­tory care

Mus­cat - As part of the Amer­i­can As­so­ci­a­tion for Res­pi­ra­tory Care (AARC) Congress held in New Or­leans, US, the as­so­ci­a­tion has se­lected Khalsa bint Mo­hammed al Siyabi, head of Res­pi­ra­tory Care Depart­ment in the Direc­torate Gen­eral of Spe­cialised Med­i­cal Care, Min­istry of Health, as one of the best in­ter­na­tional fel­lows in the field of res­pi­ra­tory care for 2019.

Khalsa is the first Omani spe­cialised in the field of res­pi­ra­tory care and one of the founders of the Res­pi­ra­tory Care Depart­ment in the Min­istry of Health.

Through the fel­low­ship pro­gramme, Khalsa worked at a num­ber of Amer­i­can hospi­tals and learnt about the lat­est de­vel­op­ments in res­pi­ra­tory care.

In ad­di­tion, she vis­ited a num­ber of colleges of res­pi­ra­tory care and med­i­cal sim­u­la­tion de­part­ments, be­sides pre­sent­ing lec­tures, re­view­ing the sul­tanate’s ex­pe­ri­ence in the field of res­pi­ra­tory care.

Af­ter Khalsa com­pleted her fel­low­ship pro­gramme, AARC hon­oured her as one of the best three in­ter­na­tional fel­lows in the field of res­pi­ra­tory care.
